NewCity Medical Plaza opened in 2019 in Zona Urbana Río — Tijuana's modern medical corridor, just 500 meters from the San Ysidro port of entry. Built as a purpose-designed medical tower, it was conceived specifically to serve the cross-border patient market: US and Canadian patients who want hospital-grade care at a fraction of stateside costs without a long flight.
The tower houses a curated collection of independent specialists, clinics, and support services under one roof — with shared operating rooms, a central laboratory, diagnostic imaging, pharmacy, and a concierge desk that speaks English. Rather than a single hospital system, NewCity functions as a medical campus where verified physicians maintain their own practices while sharing the building's infrastructure.
